thoughts_tmFrom time to time, we get analysts that make the craziest statements. Some are just so far off the charts, I have to pull out my trusty mobile and post a little balancing piece to keep sanity in check. This is one of these moments.

Take a good look at the pictures of the two gentlemen, and be sure to take anything they say with a grain of salt. The bearded, and obviously naive, gentleman in glasses is long-time Barron's West Coast Editor Eric J. Savitz. The youthful numbskull is Brian Blair, principal and equity analyst at Wedge Partners Corporation. If these guys offer you any financial advice, avoid it and run like the wind.

I know, I know. Savitz is a well respected financial journalist, and even I have regularly read his various articles and reports over the years. Blair is a respected, well-educated, often quo... .. .

n900_hands_onNo, Amazon has still not delivered my N900, which was pre-ordered back in September. But Nokia/WOMWorld made sure Maemo-Freak wouldn't be left out in the cold, and has sent me a loaner device to check out. It arrived at 1:45 pm, right after I returned from walking my dog, and it has kept my attention ever since.

I've officially had the device just a few minutes, but I'm totally impressed across the board with this beast. It is all I expected and more. I have to spend some private time with the N900 to learn all of its strengths and weaknesses, so I may become scarce for the next few days, but will keep everyone pos.... .. .

thumb_ub Nokia is facing the unenviable task of telling to their suppliers that company’s first Maemo 5 powered phone has been delayed due the overwhelming demand and that they will not be receiving units until December 4th!

Situation is totally out of control and has reached the point where it has started to impact Nokia’s supply chain; company just can't keep pace with the hype and the number of preorders which not that bad after all, as this is a problem that most companies would love to have.

However, the good news is that pre-order customers will start receiving their devices immediately and the company has promised those orde... .. .
