According to folks over at ElectricPig, the world’s number two browser, is rapidly rolling out its plans to invade the mobile space and is trying to get latest version of its mobile browser in shape to finally leave beta status in December.
In recent weeks, Mozilla has released a number of enhancements, new features, significantly improved performance, new logo and replace the code name (Fennec) with a well known Firefox brand.

Sygic announces the compatibility of its Mobile Maps turn-by-turn navigation application with the new Nokia Maemo mobile phones. The application will get ready for sale from Sygic web site e-shop by the end of 2009.
Turn-by-turn voice guided navigation software Sygic Mobile Maps converts mobile phones into full-featured navigation devices. Sygic now extends its current compatibility range to support the new Nokia Maemo 5 OS devices. Further operating systems supported already are iPhone, Symbian, Android and Windows Mobile, incl. Windows Mobile 6.5.

Worldwide mobile phone sales totalled 308.9 million units in the third quarter of 2009, a 0.1 per cent increase from the third quarter of 2008, according to Gartner, Inc. Smartphone sales surpassed 41 million units, a 12.8 per cent increase from the same period last year, and Apple overtook RIM in Western Europe for the first time since the launch of the iPhone.

Accroding to Reuters’ Tarmo Virki, Nokia has started deliveries of its first Linux powered Smartphone, a real game-changer that will help Nokia to finally turn the tide of smartphone war in their favour and control the mobile market again.

Couple of months ago, Mozilla, the nonprofit organization behind Firefox, has rolled out first beta version of Fennec, the long awaited mobile version of the Firefox and now I'm glad to inform you that they have released a fifth beta for Nokia’s Maemo based devices last night which bringing them one step closer to the final release.
The initial focus of Fennec development was on building a new user experience that reflects Firefox's design principles, adding touch screen support and other interactions appropriate for mobile phones and other handheld devices, while preserving leading features like the Smart URL Bar ("awesome bar") and support for add-ons.

Nokia has officially unveiled its first Linux powered smartphone couple of months ago on 27 August, but only started taking pre-orders for the device last month but unfortunately company failed to deliver phone as promised which makes the long wait even more frustrating!
However, it seems that long wait is nearly over, as Softpedia and Pocket Lint reports that phone is rumored to make an appearance in the US as soon as on November 14, while it is expected to hit the shelves in the UK two days later on November 16.
