The first Nokia Harmattan / MeeGo device , the Nokia N9 , has been garnering rave reviews everywhere. However there is one more MeeGo phone ie the developer only Nokia N950. Rumor has it that the N950 was supposed to be launched in 2010 as the first MeeGo device but got canned. Nokia has been handing these out to select developers to spurt the development of Qt apps for the N9 as well as the next billion Qt enabled devices. I got the opportunity to play around with the device for a while and check out the much touted MeeGo OS. Can I say that i'm in love ? Yes , MeeGo is as great as it was ever hyped up to be. The hardware feels solid, the software is silky smooth and moreover, stable. The multitasking implementation is excellent. In short, the phone works great! The N950 comes with a 4 row QWERTY keyboard. The keys here feel better than the E7's admittedly awesome keyboard. Check out the video overview of the hardware below : httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IR2zR2O8aLI The matte black finish of the N950 makes it look like a stealth fighter and that is definitely a great thing in my opinion! 4 Row ...

Here is a quick look at Multitasking on the Nokia N9 powered by MeeGo. When you see a preview of all the apps currently running , it shows you the every app's current state in realtime and not just a screenshot like in some other platforms. For instance the Compass app reacts to movements even when in the Multitasking view. Pretty impressive ! Watch it in action in the video below. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfEEBkcTwDo You can also close apps my clicking on the red cross on the top right corner. You can swipe to the right from an app to get to the menu and swipe to the right again for the multi-tasking view. Here is a look at the Youtube integration on the N9 and how switching between the video and the menu works wonderfully well. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoZEt35PSws

PocketNow has got their hands on the Press Images of the rumoured Nokia N9 / Lankku / N950 . The images almost confirms that the device will be a Touch only device without a QWERTY keyboard. Full specs or a final name is still not out, but the handset is likely to arrive in Pink, Blue and Black. The device looks super slim and seems to be running Nokia's version of the MeeGo which has been under development for quite sometime. Here is another image which show shows the earpiece and headphone jack. We are really excited about Nokia Connection happening at Singapore tomorrow.  Michael might be getting his hands on at whatever device is announced tomorrow. So make sure you check FoneArena tomorrow for all the latest Nokia stuff. Read

Looks like Nokia Vietnam has spilled the beans about the upcoming Nokia Meego Phone - the N9 which is codenamed Lannku. The banner above translates roughly to " a masterpiece from Nokia will be introduced on 21 june 2011. Don't miss it". The source code on the page confirms the existence of Nokia N9 aka Lannku   We expected the first Nokia Meego phone to be announced MeegoConf last month but it never happened. Nokia is expected to announce a market disrupting device tomorrow June 21st on the sidelines of CommunicAsia. Will it be the N9/N9-01 Meego Phone or the silly 1GHz S40 phone ? Rumours suggest a QWERTY keyboard or a Touchscreen only device along with a 12 MP Camera. You can also see some nice Meego icons with a touch of Symbian Anna in the video below. We have also heard that only the developer version of the device will have a QWERTY keyboard and the consumer version will be a touch only device. UPDATE: Thanks to some Finnish readers who point out that it would be Lankku (plank in finnish). Looks like there is a typo in the source. Nokia N9 Teaser Video httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckBtXFSbaQg Old image courtesy of PocketNow We gotta wait till 6:30 AM IST tomorrow ...

Introduction There are cases and then there are luxurious cases like the ones manufactured by PDAir. The Nokia N900 Cases from PDAir are- A Leather Book Style Case, Leather Flip Style Case and a Leather Pouch Style Case. I will be reviewing the Leather Book Style Case today. Out of the three cases I feel that the Book case is the one that’s more matching with the landscape oriented design of the N900. The Flip case is very much identical but I guess it would go better with vertically oriented smartphones. Anyway lets take a look a the case and lets see whether its worth the money or not. Unboxing The Nokia N900 PDAir Book Style Leather Case comes in a paper box with see through packaging on the front which clearly highlights the case. Here are the contents of the case: PDAir Book Style Leather Case for Nokia N900 Belt Clip Clip Adapter So basically all that you need is included but we expected to see an N900 screen protector also bundled with it. Design The case is designed especially for the Nokia N900 so the phone will fit in just perfectly. Not loose or ...

Introduction Protecting your device/mobile phone is always a big issue. No matter how careful you are with it, there is always a chance that it can suffer a few scratches, knocks and cuts. Another issue is the extra bulk that covers and cases add to your device thus making the device uncomfortable to use. This is where ZAGG’s Invisible Shield for Nokia N900 enters. It provides superior protection to your device without adding any extra weight or discomfort to your device. The Invisible Shield has its origins in the military where it was used to protect the blades of helicopters from wear and tear while travelling at 100s of miles per hour. ZAGG claims that their Invisible Shield is the one of the toughest protection available for devices. Let’s take a look to see if it’s true. Design The Invisible Shield can be purchased as a full body protection or just as a screen protector alone. We are reviewing the full body protection here and the N900 screen protector is also included in the packaging. All the Invisible Shields are made from the same kind of material. Its high flexibility allows it to be made in different shapes and sizes to be put on different ...
