Just a quick note to let you know that we have an N810, the N800 is updated to OS 2008, and the new tutorials are now in production. We've been crawling all over the N810 to find out more about it, and here are some initial thoughts:
The N800 and N810 really are the same
One of the first things we did with the N810 was run it alongside the updated N800. We couldn't find any major differences
Well, it's nearly DECEMBER and no new tutorials, so here's yet another update on the Internet Tablet School's situation:
- We're still waiting for the N810 to become available through Nokia's UK online shop, but they're not even allowing pre-orders yet. We have absolutely no idea when the N810 will be available through this shop, and it's all the more frustrating because the N810 is freely
Well, it's now mid-November, so here's an update on the current situation:
In short, we will be back doing tutorials very very soon, perhaps within a week or two. We really want to do them, but as was explained in the previous post we can't do any tutorials until the new N810 internet tablet goes on sale and/or the new OS 2008 update is made available for the N800.
We're going to get hold of
As regular readers may have noticed, it's been a week or two since our last tutorial was published. Don't worry, we're still here! :-)
The Internet Tablet School is taking a break from new tutorials until the middle of November. You'll still be able to see all the existing tutorials of course, but we're holding off doing any new ones for a couple of weeks.
The reason why is the imminent
As you may have heard, Nokia recently announced their latest Internet Tablet model, the N810.
To put things briefly, the N810 is NOT a next generation tablet, but a variation on the current N800 tablet. It's a same-generation alternative model.
The N800 and N810 will be receiving equal software support from Nokia and other software makers because in computing terms they're exactly the same
