I don't see a problem with a council member getting a device if there are grounds for it. Good practise is not to participate in the decision making if applying for one. The council can of course disqualify themselves if they want to.

since I don't have any second intentions (not a candidate and have a n950)
I will say: it is perfectly reasonable to have the council members to get
one as a reward" for the work they will do (and most likely have already
done our they would not get elected). I would leave to each one to decide
how to best use it.

I am running for the council and have no need for an N9 or an N950. If I get elected, I'll help in the community awards, so this is me formally withdrawing from saying I need a device if I am elected.

I am also running for the council and I don't have an N9 or an N950, just
the N900. I wouldn't say I don't want one [?], specially for testing and QA
as I'm already participating as a Tester for Extras, but I also think it
would be better used by any developer.
