Even if this failed it's not the end of the world, as long as there is
an OBS someone is paying for. You need to upload different files
anyway (.tar.gz and dsc for deb, .tar.gz and .spec for harmattan).

One very interesting angle is to use meego handset arm target to build
meego rpm's normally, and then just run those rpm's in harmattan. I
don't see why most apps wouldn't work with that setup; we just need to
be able to install rpm's on the debian based system (which is not as
hard as people think, as soon as we get this stuff in public and can
skip bureaucracy and pathologically risk-averse decision making ;-).
This will allow us to reside entirely in meego infrastructure, with
some limitations to what we can do (dependecies, basically).

.. and lest I managed to confuse someone, I mean .tar.gz and .spec for
Real MeeGo.

You say that as if that were our decision to make.

Cheers,
Dave.

Ofcourse not, I'm just worried about the signal/noise ratio burdened
on the Maemo infrastructure (especially TMO) once newer closed parts
or new closed versions of previously open parts will be introduced. I
was merely asking :)

I apologize if this is how it sounded.

Cheers,

I don't know what you mean by "assimilating" but there will be a problem if
the Harmattan UI is closed. I don't mean to say that Harmattan won't be
discussed in t.m.o. albeit with low S/N ratio.
