Hi,

I tried to install syncevolution (have been using it in various Linux Workstations) but when I launch the program, it complains about libpcre.so.3.
What am I missing and where can I get it?

I have been waiting for a solution to sync my N900 with Zimbra (with Funambol) and this is answer to my wishes.

Thanks guys!

First of all thank you all for making this happen, syncing with scheduleworld was what I missed most on my n900!

libpcre3 can be installed from extras-devel, it just won't be installed automatically since you install syncevolution via dpkg and not apt-get.

There are two small obstacles I ran into configuring syncevolution that weren't mentioned before:

1. you have to configure the evolution database for notes and tasks (most likely the same you use for the addressbook) and

2. config.ini for notes is in ~/.config/syncevolution/scheduleworld/sources/memo/ not /notes.

Cheers!

Hi,

I got the following error while running sync:

Loading backend library syncecal.sofailed /usr/lib/syncevolution/backends/syncecal.so: undefined symbol: e_source_list_peek_groups

Any ideas how to fix this?

Got it working when I defined uri to ../calendar/config.ini

Thanks for providing this piece of software. I managed sync also against a self-hosted Funambol sync server.

I've tried a couple combinations of the SSL-related options, and I seem to be run into issues with libsoup negotiating the SSL connection, or issues with verifying the certificate...

[ERROR] SSL certificate checking requested, but no CA certificate file configured

(server is using a 'real' Thawte cert)

or if I turn off SSL checking via...

SSLVerifyServer = 0
SSLVerifyHost = 0

then I get a different error

[INFO] SoupTransport Failure: https://calendar.mydomain.com/ocst-bin/ocas.fcgi via libsoup: SSL handshake failed

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
- Jason

I get the same error...

[INFO] Soup Transport: http://www.abc.co.uk/horde3/rpc.php via libsoup: SSL handshake failed

...when I try to connect to my sync server over HTTPS. Connections are fine to the same server from the maemo web browser or via the mail client to IMAP over SSL, just seems to be an issue with access from the command line.

Has anyone managed to resolve, I haven't at the moment but will post an update if I do.

Matt

Hi all,

I also would like to synchronize addresses and calendars with my N900. I am using Thunderbird (two addressbooks) with the lightning plugin (three calendars currently). I looked around and found out that the Funambol Thunderbird plugin does not support multiple addressbooks and calendards (which is a feature wanted since years). I am even not sure if the Funambol server itself supports them.

Next, I looked at ScheduleWorld. They seem to support multiple addressbooks/calendars. So, does syncevolution also support them? I would be so happy to have a working sync between my Linux desktop and the N900, although I am not very happy with putting all my personal information to ScheduleWorld.

Are there any other possible sync solutions for my setup? I could also live with a restricted solution where the data is only pushed from the desktop to the N900...

All the best and many thanks for your efforts,
Michael.

I'm using Memotoo - the instructions are at:
http://wiki.memotoo.com/wiki/Sync_Maemo_5_/_Nokia_N900

I haven't yet got notes or SSL working but otherwise it's great.

Will post more, if it helps...
