Conboy is a note taking application.
It is designed to be easy to use - yet powerful. Conboy can read and write the Tomboy file format to be compatible with Tomboy on Linux, Mac and Windows.

thanks! nice application!
Very good and helpful app! Sync with ubuntu one works great for me. Thank you!
only thing missing for me is scp/sftp -sync to external server but writing a script for it takes about 15 secs or so.......
The only one note taking application I use :)
I've been using conboy for about 2 years now and its one of my essential apps. I just updated to the latest version and now it seems twice as fast, very snappy. Nice work!
Excellent app. I've been using for several months now. I'm using the version that sync's with Ubuntu One & Tomboy on Ubuntu - seems perfect for me in both directions (Not sure if this is now fully available or still in 'testing' - anyway, it works for me), Thanks.
@Thomas Maass: I'm not quite sure what your asking. Conboy works directly on the Tomboy format (reading and writing) there is nothing else involved. All notes are stored in /home/user/.conboy. However Conboy shouldn't run while you change anything in that directory.
If you have further questions, please ask them in the forum using this thread: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=833688
Nice work! I am trying to sync with Linux Tomboy via Unison. Reading works perfect, but how can I get Conboy write in Tomboy format?
Must Have. It helps me track all my N900 details in on go. :) Nice port
A crack app. Simple and quick. Syncing works well. Only thing it needs is note categories/notebooks.
The most usefull apps on n900.
Sync with ubuntu one server and conboy notes on windows and unix
Just one default ... there isn t any undo :(
Great application. Simple and fast. Number one in usage in my N900. Handles all my notes. Synchronization with ubuntu one works ok. Searching is great.
Very good app, sync works (kind of) with Ubuntu One. I was able to export my n900 notes to the cloud, but when I edited them from my U1 account, and synched from the N900, I couldn't have them changed back on the latter.
Insanely useful. It is really handy how you use the Titles as names of the document and that you can link and jump to other documents by tapping those links.
excellent application!
Excellent Application. I love it and used it reguarly. I even started using it to take notes at meetings. However the Lack of Sync is a HUGE barrier to using this application regularly. I used Tomboy at my Linux box at home and Windows box at work both synced to Ubuntu. If Conboy had a method of syncing to Ubuntu one hence syncing with Tomboy, it would be get another star from me. I think it also needs an UNDO command the ability to categorise notes. But I'm sure you guys are working on that. Keep up the good work. I would love to help with some of this development work but I'm new to the maemo development environment.
I'm using GNote on my desktop and Conboy is nearly perfect mobile brother, but I'm missing some synchronization option.
I absolutely love conboy! The only thing still missing is synchronisation to a own server. Either webdav or ssh would be a great option. I need to keep my notes in sync with my desktop but I do not want to give my personal data to ubuntu or others... Many thanks for this great application! Stephan
Great applicaton. I haven't had any problems with it
I'd love this software but it has a critical bug that makes it unusable for me. :(
I wonder nobody else has mentioned or reported these, so am I the only one with these?
I have created bug reports out of these.
The contents of notes keeps randomly disappearing, only the title remains. https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8301
Several bullets from the end of the notes keeps randomly disappearing. https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8302
Hopefully these gets fixed. For the time being I must find another note application... :(
Really nice! I use this regularly.
Works well for me, nice app
Works well for me, nice app
@David B: Are you rating the application or the maemo.org Downloads section? Meanwhile this might be interesting: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6187
need to add the option to select text with finger only.
need to add the option to select text with finger only.
Only gets 1 stars from me. From a user point of view when looking at this app here i should see more than what is shown above and below.
There should be basic details of what this is as detailed here:
http://conboy.garage.maemo.org/
If there are not proper application descriptions it will be harder to get users to use a store when they have to goto a different website just to find out what an application is.
Eventually people will get sick and not use it anyumore as it does not make sense

Awesome tool to keep notes
Like others, I too have tried several such utilities, and this is the one that stayed (I even translated it :-). My one wish is that it could someday sync with (or at least push to) Evernote...
My favorite way to take notes -- use it for work and travel. Fast, clean interface.
favorite note app. just a must have for me. thank you for this great application
Thanks for the nice feedback - I really like that :)
@Uwe: The upcoming 0.6.x version will provide synchronization with Ubuntu One which is also available for Tomboy. You can test it if you install conboy-unstable. Have a look here: http://zwong.de/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/conboy_sync.ogv http://zwong.de/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/conboy_sync.avi
I really like this application and I'm using it more and more as the only note taking application. It would be great to have the pssibillity to upload the content to a webdav folder to use it together with tomboy on my desktop.
Pure awesomeness. I actually use this one compared to the Notes application that is shipped with the device. Its brilliant formatting options and its speed make this a winner.
Great! Solid ! I use it to make notes while commuting. Yes , I also vote for 'Edit' in portrait mode.
Conboy is the place where I keep all my day-by-day notes like travel itineraries and meeting memos.
Looking forward to the version that can sync to Ubuntu One or Midgard!
looking forward to 'Edit' in portrait mode.
