File Manager file names don't match terminal names

I downloaded some mp3's with the Firefox browser Fennec. Annoyingly, every file is names media_downloader.cgi. I used the terminal to move these files from the hidden-to-File Manager folder .documents and renamed them at the same time. The trouble is only the terminl shows the correct new name. File Manager and Media Player show the same name for every file, 'media downloader'. What's going on and how do I fix it?
