Hi!

Although I'm a linux-user for several years, now, I must confess I'm a total noob when talking about cross-compiling and stuff.

I've got my N900 for about a week, now, and I'm really surprised about the quality of maemo. Sad, nokia dropped it! I guess, this is what I've been searching for since I bought my Motorola A780 some years ago…

Nevertheless, there are just a few issues to solve to make me totally satisfied: I'm looking for 2 apps to work on my N900: Navit and syncevolution. Couldn't find them here on maemo.org, although I've read some threads about them here. Strange.

I wonder if I could build them by myself: I've got a wonderful Siduction (Debian Sid) running on my notebook - should be easy to crosscompile some software, if I only knew, how… :) Would be glad if someone gave me some advices - I never ever cross-compiled something.

Another question: On debian, I can add a local repository by editing /etc/apt/sources.list[.d/local.conf]. Is it possible to do the same on a maemo-device like the N900?

Greets!

Hello !
yes you can by editing "/etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list
you can install leafpad or any other editor for this :)

or from the application manager itself !

Good luck
