Reggie, the whole point of this enterprise is to keep the domain. That's the
only reason basically why HF been founded. So basically absolutely nothing
would change for you if you decided to keep ownership of tmo and just move to
another server donated by HF (or whomever) to you. If you don't like this
option to say 'boss' and 'owner' of tmo, we'll still try to keep stuff like it
ever been, for all aspects visible to tmo users, just change the main
responsible of tmo then.

Pretty normal best practice for any such procedure. Of course whoever will run
tmo in future will handle those topics accordingly. At least as long as
council and board have a saying on that.

May thanks, much appreciated :-)

Hell now that I finished writing and was about to delete that TOFU posts, I
noticed it has a whole thread with info neither board, nor my dear colleagues
in council bothered to forward to me, so all that is pretty new to me. :-//
GREAT!
Thank you Reggie for forwarding it!

Just a sidenote on domains: you want to make DAMN SURE you keep the URL,
otherwise we will break each and every bookmark and link on this planet
pointing to stuff in tmo. Which pretty much renders tmo archive a wreck
regarding usefulness for users.

A more general though related sidenote: I'd appreciate when HF board wouldn't
decide on technical details from their gut feelings. Rather please discuss
stuff in the public, there's probably somebody out there more savvy than you
are who's willing to help.

cheers again
jOERG (council in retirement it seems, ex-appointed admin by courtesy of HF)
