Make Qt plain-C- and Vala- friendly

Posted on 2010-03-14 13:05 UTC by Roman Polach. Status: Under consideration

Main disadvantage of Qt (in comparison with GTK+) is C++.

Most of free software (see SourceForge) is written in Plain C.

There is need to have ability to develop C apps and for the best also Vala apps on top of Qt.

N900 as secondary display

Posted on 2010-03-17 06:32 UTC by Janne Palo. Status: Under consideration, Categories: Utilities.

I would like the possibility to use my N900 as a secondary PC monitor.

I know there are Remote Desktop apps but this is not what i need. What i need is a app or mod to get the PC to identify N900 as a 800*480 lcd (touchscreen) monitor, where i could extend my desktop (windows, linux, osx, all wich have multiscreen support). This would add hundreds of possibilities to N900 + home PC usage.

get MfE (Mail for Exchange) to auto connect and disconnect to internet on a schedule

Mail for exchange is great. however, the battery on the N900 isnt. i dont want to have to be connected to the internet all the time to sync exchange as the battery drains like crazy. i would like to get a synch done say every half hour. i would like mfe to auto open a connection to the internet (which connection to use can be based on a preference list - see below) on a user definable schedule, and then sync everything, then close the internet connection.

No easy way to know if you have unlistened to voicemails.

Clipboard sharing over bluetooth

Posted on 2010-03-24 13:01 UTC by Mardeg. Status: Waiting, Categories: Utilities.

1. User A: Copy text or image to clipboard from any app.
2. User A: Send clipboard over bluetooth to User B who gets a prompt to allow his clipboard to be overwritten with that of User A.
3. User B: Paste clipboard contents into any app.

The idea is to automate everything else to make this a very rapidfire way of sharing.

I just realised this is really just 2 steps for each user, so let's show it that way:

User A

- Step 1: Copy content

- Step 2: Run app to select receiver

User B

- Step 1: Confirm overwrite of clipboard

- Step 2: Paste content
