Nokia has open sourced today the Hildon Input Method Framework, allowing developers to extend and improving, and also port it to other environments. The components opened are:
The container UI and plugin system (hildon-input-method, LGPL).

maemo trademark policy officially approved

The maemo trademark policy is officially approved. The draft submitted for community review had just some trivial changes and the Usage Guidelines and Logos have been published in the website for a while. The objective of this trademark is to protect the maemo brand from abuse and misleading usage.

Internet Tablet OS source packages available in the repository

The sources for all the open source components in the latest Internet Tablet OS 2007 release are available in the source package repository for maemo 3.2, along with the normal set of maemo 3.2 sources. The source tarball, that was delivered for previous Internet Tablet OS releases, will be no longer produced.
