Automatically Disable Vibration when on charging

Posted on 2010-04-19 17:03 UTC by Aman Narang. Status: Waiting, Categories: Utilities.

Hi,
i am not programmer but just an idea which i guess should not be very difficult to implement.

Usually we keep our phones on a hard surface when on charging mode and so when i get a call or a msg it vibrates, scratching the lower body. Plus, i also dont like the sound of vibration on a hard surface.

Can anyone make a hack that disables vibration mode when charging and re-enables it when removed from charging mode?

Port of Screeble (Android) on Maemo 5

Posted on 2010-04-21 09:07 UTC by Jules Me. Status: Under consideration, Categories: System.

I have been thinking of an app that could wakup the N900 by simply taking the phone in hand, using the accelerometer to calculate the angle of the phone, therefore light up the screen. It has been done before and an application exists for Android (http://www.brighthub.com/mobile/goog...ews/58778.aspx).

This is exacly what I'd like the N900 to do. We do have the hardware to do this, but my coding skills aren't that great ...

I was think of a crond that reads a file to get the coordonates of the phone x,y,z.

the file /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-3/3-001d/coord has the coordinates, if a crond could read the file then unlock the phone and light up the screen.
Any ideas?

Include "disabled" flag in presence status

If it was possible to set an account to disabled in a custom status, one could quickly enable an account when needed and otherwise contacts from that account don't clutter the address book.

Touchscreen Vibration ONLY for certain events

Here is the original thread if anyone is interested!:

Ok, at the moment, when touchscreen vibration feature is enabled, the phone
will vibrate whenever the screen is touched. The vibrations get incredibly annoying, haptics are there to help guide you when your using the phone not to inform you of every single time your touch the screen, it makes kinetic scrolling and swiping through desktops ect.. very annoying..

I find touchscreen vibration is incredibly helpful when typing on the onscreen
keyboard which I use frequently as there are times when sliding the phone out
is inconvenient..

Please implement this!

Enhance caller identification and call log

I would like to suggest some changes to both the caller identification screen when receiving an incoming call and also to the call log.
