Firmware updates can bring users benefits but also risks. An update can bring new functionality, but it can also disable existing functionality. The update process itself can go wrong and crash the device. Users need to be able to make informed choices about whether an update is worthwhile, but at present, the information needed for an informed choice is not easily available to end users.

Specifically, firmware updates come without changelogs. The only way to find out what's in an update is to read about other people's experiences, which can require wading through long discussion threads on talk.maemo.org.

The Skype implementation on n900 is very feature weak. There have been a number of suggestions of ways it could be improved. This brainstorm is to collate them all in one place to make a feature-rich Skype experience.

As discussed on this page I as part of the community do not see the technical benefit of switching to RPM. As this switch means rebasing to a completely different distribution and by this basically throwing the experience away that was gained during the last 5 years.

I was looking for application for keeping scores and statistics with my N900 while playing snooker and i found none. i would like to develop one by my self but my coding experience is close to zero so i can only help designing features for such app. So here are the features that should be added to snooker score keeper application if somebody with programming skills would like to take the challenge:

the tactile touchscreen feedback is not communicating any information to the user other than if the user tapped the screen or not. Discuss if there could be ways that the tactile feedback be more useful to the user
