The Maemo Eclipse Integration 2nd Edition project has released new out-of-the-box ready Maemo SDK Virtual Image based on Ubuntu Intrepid Desktop and supporting VMWare, VirtualBox and QEmu.

SHORT DESCRIPTION

  • This image is Beta 1 version of out-of-the-box working and ready configured Maemo Diablo 4.1 SDK Virtual Image for Maemo development.
  • This image includes the latest maintenance version 4.1.2 of Maemo Diablo SDK development environment and the latest official prerelease (Beta 1) for Maemo Eclipse Integration. Notice that especially Maemo Eclipse Integration environment is still in beta level on quality and functionality point of view.
  • This image is planned to be used by developers who do not want to install anything related to base line Ubuntu distribution, Maemo Diablo SDK release or Eclipse IDE. In fact, the developer just needs to install image using chosen virtualization technology and install enhancing tools if virtualization technology is VMWare or VirtualBox to have full Maemo Diablo development environment available.
  • With this image developer can use both Maemo Eclipse and command line Development Environment to build applications  for Maemo Diablo platform.
  • This image does not host Maemo Fremantle SDK Development Environment by default but Fremantle SDK can be installed to the image either manually or with Maemo SDK installation wizard provided by Maemo ESBox environment.
