The Maemo Eclipse Integration 2nd Edition project has reached its second prerelease Alpha 2 targeting final release 2H2009.

Maemo Eclipse Integration 2nd Edition will offer the same functionality as 1st Edition released summer 2008 plus much more features to both ESBox and Pluthon plugins. In addition to the native C programming language Maemo Eclipse Integration fully supports both C++ and Python development environments.

This Alpha 2 release supports Maemo Diablo 4.1.2 development environment and N800, N810 and N810 Wimax Edition Internet Tablet devices.

Maemo Eclipse Integration 2nd Edition includes the following parts:

    * Eclipse 3.4.1 IDE for C/C++ Developers (official release from eclipse.org)
    * Maemo PC Connectivity v0.4.1 (Diablo extras-devel repository version)
    * Maemo ESbox plugin for Eclipse v2.0.0M2 (Esbox Garage project version)
    * Maemo Pluthon plugin for Eclipse v2.0.0M2 (Pluthon Garage project version)
    * Maemo C/C++ and Python programming language support (Diablo extras repository versions)
    * Maemo Virtual SDK Images (to support other than Debian based Linuxes from here)

Here is (very) short list of new features: Maemo Virtual SDK Images for Diablo supporting VMWare Player and QEmu, initial support for MS Windows host PC with Virtual SDK Image, VNC support for Internet Tablet with native and Eclipse clients, better integration to Eclipse RSE components, much easier Internet Tablet configuration for PC Connectivity with supporting convenient USB, WLAN, and Bluetooth connections, easy way to install and update packages from repositories for Maemo SDK, automatic generation of Debian package structures for Eclipse projects, etc.
