Community council elections - nominations open

Nominations for candidates are now open for the first Community Council election.

The community council will be a group of 5 people, elected from the community, who will represent the best onterests of the diverse maemo.org community, through monthly meetings with Nokia's representatives, and help organise and co-ordinate community involvement in the project.

Nominations will close at 23:59 UTC on Monday, the 2nd of September, and voting will be held from Tuesday the 3rd of September to Tuesday the 10th of September.

 Community members who have over 100 karma as of today are eligible to be candidates. If you are unsure if you are eligible, and wish to propose your candidature, please check the full list of people eligible in the wiki.

 Everyone who had created a maemo.org account on or before the 10th of June 2008 is eligible to vote. Instructions for voting will be emailed to you when nominations close. A full list of eligible voters will be posted in the wiki.

To nominate yourself as a candidate for these inaugural Community Council elections,  please send an email to maemo-community@maemo.org stating your name, your company affiliation, and your reasons for proposing yourself for the council.
