what a best emulator for N900, it works perfectly!! I can replay all those old games storing in the box, not a single lagging, sound output is perfect!
This is great news. However, will it work on maemo5?
oh how great to play monkey island on nokia :D i'm really happy. oh man i LOVE scummvm
Essential if you like 'old-school' adventure games, Very enjoyable on tablets.
For Diablo you can install it by directly clicking scummvm .deb file from any repository. So far there is same binary for OS 2006,7, and 8. http://repository.maemo.org/extras/pool/chinook/free/s/scummvm/
As for autobuilder - yes in theory, unfortunately scummvm has quite a lot of dependencies so it is not exactly trivial and I prefer spending time on improving real code than debian packaging of dependencies. See also http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/maemo/developers/38141#38141
0.12 release is near so I will look at it when making 0.12
Hi,
First, thanks for the port. I enjoyed playing some "Broken Sword" for the nostalgy :-)
I just updated the Nokia N800 to Diablo and it seems there is no version of your ScummVM port for Diablo yet...
So I searched the net a bit and read that there is a patch (i.e. the port) in the upstream ScummVM now. Does this mean this will be autobuilt with mud-builder in the future (or otherwise autobuilt) or am I reading too much into it?
its good but waht the heck all the games are just no good anymore
No issues here! Working far better for me than Dosbox, obviously. Not a big gamer but I enjoy the walk down memory lane with Legend of Kyrandia. Very stable, constantly updated, kudos to the ScummVM team!
This was a triumph. I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS... erm, sorry; got carried away there for a moment. The peeps who bothered to port ScummVM to the Maemo platform are my heroes. This app is rock solid, stable, and retains almost all the functionality of the desktop variants. As the other commenter mentioned, the graphic adventure game genre is perfectly suited to the NIT form factor. Well done!
Fine port, no issues. It works as expected, quite well even for games with music and voice playback. The adventure genre is very well fit to Internet Tablets.
