Panucci is a resuming audiobook/podcast player application for your internet tablet with support for bookmarking. It's the application you have been searching for when other media player don't support resuming and bookmarking of long-running audio files.

The user interface is completely finger-friendly with big buttons and a big position display on the main window.

I really like the application an use it a lot while driving to the job and back home each day to hear my podcasts. Really great forward and backward option buttons implemented! They make life easy especially in the car driving where the N900 is mounted at the desk and when everything is shaking (on the normal media player jumping forward or backwards in the audio track is impossible while driving). And the resuming makes it easy to continue listening tomorrow morning where you stopped today in the evening.

Just two suggestions for new features: 1) The player should pause the track automatically when a call is active (incoming and outgoing). 2) The player should please react on the headset buttom (play/stop) - I guess there are other standard commands which can be recognized as well like used in some sneak BT-headsets (e.g. the Philips Tapster Bluetooth-Stereo-Headset: http://www.philips.at/c/zubeh%F6r-f%FCr-mobiltelefone/tapster-shb7110_10/prd/ )

Best regards and keep going!

Nice Idea. Couldn't try it yet, cause it doesn't read microsd-card where my audiobooks are located.

Love it! Finally an application that allows me to effectively use the collection of audio books that I have. Thanks!

I've just found out about this wonderful app. It makes listening to podcasts just so much easier. :) I really like the bookmarking and the large scrollbar. The large scrollbar makes scrolling through the podcast so much better than the built in media player in maemo!

Works well, easy to use and does just what it says. And has the added advantage that it copes well with MP2 as well as MP3, so I no longer have to convert the files streamed from my DAB tuner to listen to them.

Sessions (playlists) will be added in an upcoming version. We already have some code in SVN - check it out if you like.

The version 0.2-2 (just released) fixes some problems with resuming and setting bookmarks in pause mode.

I would like to promote the idea of having sessions. Sessions will make the audiobooks to have better management of the reading I do. Also somekind of built upon the m3u so I can get a marker across splitted chapters. Best way is to have a .file saving all the information in the application similar to sessions.

usless if you want to listen to audio books which are splitted in a lot of small files (typical chapters on a cd.. ) because you have to load the files one by one... so the only way is to merge all the files before using them in this application.
