Improve N900 security

I think most of us are familiar with PIN code system on mobile devices. However on N900 if you dont know the PIN you can simply skip that window and it will continue to boot into OS. So even without SIM support e.g. you wont be able to make phone calls but all other functions are available.

Modest and Mailing Lists Commands

RFC 2369 describes various headers that are designed to facilitate manipulation with mailing lists.  Currently, the modest e-mail client doesn't recognize any of them or treat them specially.

In desktop mail clients, at the very least, usually the List-Post command is used to provide a "reply to list" option in addition to the regular "reply" and "reply-all" options.  Often List-Unsubscribe or List-Help are also presented to the user.

Screen real-estate is precious for modest, which presents a question of how this information should be surfaced to the user (if at all).

Option to Use Enter To Send SMS In Conversations

I think pressing enter as well as having the option to press send on the screen would make texting a lot easier. Taking away the need to go from the keyboard to the screen therefore increasing speed.

For the people who use enter for formatting, there could be a setting somewhere that allows customisation of the enter key.

Bridge the gap between Modest and competing smartphone email clients

If Maemo/Meego is to be a serious contender in the business/smartphone arena, a decent email client should be an integral part of the offering.  Compared to other platforms, such as Blackberry (obviously), but also the iPhone or even S60, the Maemo email client is seriously underpowered, even for mundane tasks.

Camera "burst mode" or series of photos

In addition to the "Camera timer for taking timed shots" brainstorm, I miss another feature I used to have in my ancient Nokia N80. There seems no possibility to take more than one photo at a time. Each picture needs separate user action.
