Better Media Player binding with File Manager

It would be better if the filemanager can choose which application to play a video:D

Im confused with smplayer, as its complexity scare me away; and the default media player cannot play some videos, also unable to choose play audio only.

Better to have a simlified mplayer frontend or just let the file manager to play video with it.

Maybe make a "Preview-based" file manager as cool as possible?

Port gnome-mplayer to maemo

change the default media player backend to mplayer?

Ability to select a video file as a ringtone. Similar to S60 devices where a video can be played on an incoming call.

Proposal:

User should be able to select a video file in the ringtone selection menu. Some simple settings such as "portrait" and "landscape" video orientation should be also included

Image crop to HD resolutions and aspect ratio

Taking photos that are to be displayed on HD TVs often creates two problems.

1. The size of the default image is far greater than a 1920x1080 display. No point in having any pictures any larger as it waste space.

2. Cropping very large images to HD resolutions can be hit and miss unless there is some sort of guide to lock the aspect ration to 16:9
