Use up/down keys in contact list

Posted on 2009-12-19 22:18 UTC by Kasper Souren. Status: Under consideration, Categories: Internet & Networking, User Experience.

It should be possible to use the up and down keys when viewing the contact list to scroll up and down.  It would be nice if Ctrl-Up and Ctrl-Down would recpectively go to the top and the bottom of the list.

Left and right keys should also be doing something useful, possibly go up and down one page.

Email account list should show new emails

Posted on 2009-12-22 02:38 UTC by David Katzenberg. Status: Waiting, Categories: Internet & Networking.

For those who use multiple email accounts, it would be much more convenient if "number of new emails" were shown on the first screen where the accounts are listed. As it is now, the Last Updated time is shown, but you have to open each email account separately to see if there are any new emails.

Swipe to Delete

Posted on 2009-12-18 17:41 UTC by zane farooq. Status: Waiting, Categories: User Experience.

On emails and other lists, for e.g. conversations you swipe left or right horizontally on the selected item, and you get a quick confirmation to delete, e.g. like the palm pre/iphone.

You should be able to in settings disable confirmation for deleting, it is something very simple, intuitive and will make the user experience more fluid keeping in with the Maemo experience.

Adding Offline profiles

Posted on 2009-12-19 17:48 UTC by David Hautbois. Status: Waiting, Categories: System.

the N900 has multiple connectivity :

  • GSM
  • Wifi
  • Bluetooth
  • ...

The Offline disable all these connectivity.

If I want to received GSM calls, I have keep the device Online.

So wifi connectivity is activated and the devices automaticaly connects to known access points.

To spare the battery, it would interesting to select what to disable in the Offline mode.

So, all connectivity could be disabled except the GSM.

Speed up maemo.org/community/brainstorm

http://maemo.org/community/brainstorm/ is really slow (>10s load times).  Get a faster server or possibly another fix.
