Brainstorm

Skype want's you to input the country code (US is +1) before the number you wish to call.  My contacts do not have +1 and the +1 is not needed on cellular.  If I try to use my address book to make a Skype call I get an "incorrect address" error.  There should be a default country code under Skype settings so the user does not have to dial all digits.

Lots of people use apps like qik or ustream to stream video from their phones. Sometimes at larger events bandwidth is scarcs, it would be nice if  an HQ audio-only stream could be streamed to a shoutcast or similar server

ideally the app would:

-take a line in/mic in with some sort of level indication, to the limits of the mic in hardware

-compress to selectable mp3 bitrate on the fly (160-256k vbr LAME)

-longshot: support for sony bluetooth microphone ( i dont know want sort of bt protocol this would require)

Summary: Creation and maintenance of help documentation for Maemo 5 devices, based on a wiki format, which is appended to downloadable applications via a system-level API, and stays in sync on the device in a similar fashion to the application via Application Manager Updates.

The N900 call log (record) is limited to only 30 days. This should be either unlimited, or there should be at least an option to enable unlimited logging.

This idea for a refinement to how playlists are made via the Maemo 5 Media Player application are based on some early feedback in the Talk.Maemo forums towards users' difficulities in creating playlists. My proposal is to simplify this by looking more at the process of creating a playlist and designing the UI from there.
