New Calendar/Task Date Entry

Posted on 2009-12-31 07:26 UTC by Emad Ali. Status: Under consideration, Categories: Office, User Experience.

I enjoy the smooth three columns for inputting the From and To Dates for Calendar events.

However, I would much rather have an option to display a Monthly Calendar where I can navigate through different months and years and select day/date for the events. This way I can quickly set a deadline of exactly X weeks rather having to calculate which month and date the event should fall upon.

Pandora/pianobar GUI

Posted on 2010-01-02 03:24 UTC by adam steele. Status: Under consideration, Categories: Media.

Pandora is an online radio service similar to last.fm. They are fairly 'closed source' and don't have an API available (unliked last.fm). A program called pianobar has been written which gives a CLI interface to Pandora. It has been ported to the N900 already and works rather well (much less resource hungry than running the flash based webpage).

What is needed is a simple "finger friendly" GUI wrapper to the CLI pianobar program.

This is a fairly simple project. Someone with the proper experience could bang this out in a weekend.

Touch Screen Vibration feedback setting.

Current Touch Screen Vibration feedback is very weak and barely noticeable.
The ability to change the "feel" & "strength" would be something very handy to have.

Here is the discussion thread for this brainstorm.

Plugin to play embeded videos in another application

Posted on 2010-01-10 12:26 UTC by Pelau Vadim. Status: Under consideration, Categories: Internet & Networking.

Target:

A plugin for either MicroB or Mozilla that would allow users to play embedded video content in the default video player, MPlayer or apps like ZouTube.

Purpose:

Lifting the burden laid on the CPU by pages that contain embedded videoclips without disabling the Adobe Flash plugin.

Result:

A streamlined online video experience.
