OpenAl is the most used sound api for game development on unix like platforms. A good HW accelerated implementation for maemo is needed to be able to run games at good performance with 3D sound. It will help to the portage of games/software that use OpenAL.

I propose an application to utilise Google's geolocation API to allow users to either find themselves or their missing device. This will be useful for times when the user and/or device are indoors or in a built up city area and GPS data is not available.

Some people are creating beautiful desktops for the N900 -- unfortunately, their beauty is often obscured by widgets, shortcuts etc.

 

I would like to be able to pan thru those desktops without seeing any of the other things.

 

I could do that by unchecking all of the view checkboxes, which destroys all markings on the desktop. But I want to get the original desktop back immediately.

I wouldn't think it would be that difficult to make an app that allows looking at the naked desktop, then restores the original. Perhaps a toggle.

There should be an option to say where the audio goes, so that you can use a bluetooth headset(remote) but listen over wired headphones like it worked before PR 1.1.
