MMS support is missing from the N900/Maemo5.
This is a feature those of us with friends without push e-mail (and the likes) do quite enjoy on our current phones.

Modest may or may not be the best place to handle MMS (especially since SMS is handled elsewhere), but it does provide a GUI, storage, messaging workflows (reply, forward etc) and is reasonably open and hackable.
