The N900 Media Player actually lacks of lyrics support: it should be definitely implemented.

Solution #1: Support for ID3 UNSYNCEDLYRICS field

ID3 tags has a metadata field called "UNSYNCEDLYRICS", the Media Player should read that and display it on the screen. Lyrics should be called by double tapping on the Album Cover image or through an option in the status bar menu.

Solution #2: Add "karaoke" support, additionally

This is not intended to be an exclusive solution. Just adding it on top of the ID3 tag solution.
If the mediaplayer finds a .SRT subtitles file, or a more appropriate crafted text file, it will show the lines in sync with the song, using the same idea of showing subtitles in movies.

Solution #3: TuneWiki

Add TuneWiki into the Media Player itself.
Using Unsynced lyrics is preferable to this solution, as TuneWiki is often mis-synced, and/or has incorrect/messy lyrics.
