Solution #3: Developer Override

Posted on 2009-12-08 18:49 UTC by George Waksman.

Provide a function call for developers to disable camera application autostart. This way, applications that use the camera can disable the camera application during their operation and the camera can autostart at other times.

Solution #4: hooks for camera app

Posted on 2009-12-27 02:09 UTC by jake richardson.

Provide hooks for the camera app to allow to provide other lense-open modes.

Users will have to change modes after the camera app launches, but that is how the user chooses between video/still modes, so it would seem like a natural extension of the current UI.
