Automatic Keylock based on built-in proximity sensor

The idea is to use the proximity sensor to detect if the phone is inside a pocket.  

Somehow to replace the function of the lock slider with an automatic keylock function so the phone automatically locks when the proximity sensor is being covered, and automatically unlocks when the sensor is uncovered again. 

Also, When you make or receive a call, the automatic keylock deactivates.

If you are or was a symbian user, you may recognize PocketSensor that does the same job...

Anyone can do a little applet to allow this handy "feature"?

Solution #1: Agree on some aspects

I believe there should definately be an option to use the  built-in proximity sensor for locking/unlocking the phone, but I believe it would be more convenient if the keylock did not deactivate when a call is received.

As long as the proximity sensor is covered (or has something in proximity) the screen should keep locked, otherwise there is a chance the phone might get answered in our pockets...

Solution #2: Lock the screen after sensor being covered for at least 3 secs

While using the N900, it commonly happens that the proximity sensor is accidentally covered by your hand, so it actually doesn't make any sense to lock the screen in the same time it is covered, it would result in a huge slowing down of the system.

It makes more sense if the phones locks after 3 secs or more (I think 3 secs are perfect).
