Zoom in/out

The zoom in/out in the N900 is achieved in different ways. Hardware keys or rotational zoom in/out (a la browser). This is due to the missing multitouch support in Fremantle.

Even though it gives you fine grained control on the zoom in/out, I quite don't like it as I don't feel it's "natural".

Maemo Merchandise Store

Considering that Maemo already has got some traction with people all around the world, it might be a good idea to promote it further by selling Maemo Merchandise. This would also satisfy Maemo's fans/well-wishers in getting those t-shirt which they only currently dream of :)

The Maemo Merchandise Store (MMS) can start with the regular common stuff like T-shirts, tea/coffee mugs, water bottles, usb drives, caps, stickers, etc.

This can be done either by Nokia or by someone interested (or experienced in this stuff) from the community. Either may choose to do this for a reasonable profit too.

Throw in your votes if you think this is well-worth it. Enough votes might actually turn this into reality!

EDIT: Interesting discussion and any possible doubts on licensing issues clarified here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=358341#post358341 (Thanks @Texrat)

Add support for Google calendar

Posted on 2009-12-07 14:03 UTC by Juanjo Marin. Status: Under consideration, Categories: Desktop, Internet & Networking, Office, User Experience.

Google calendar is a very popular calendar service and I think it
should be supported on the Calendar application for better and
complete user experience.

It seems that you can sync google calendar using Mail for
Exchange, but this support is limited. The limited support of
Google calendars in MfE will only allow synchronizing the first
calendar in your google calendars. Consider how limiting this is
in this example:

Let's say you have two calendars, a personal calendar and a
business calendar. With existing support, you can only
synchronize personal calendar and not the business calendar.

It makes the transparent syncing of Android very attractive in
 comparison.

catching up with long talk.maemo.org forum threads

Posted on 2009-09-30 21:03 UTC by thomas p. Status: Under consideration

sometimes a tmo thread gets immensely popular, and before you know it has hundreds of posts. the thread subject might be interesting, but reading all posts could be too time-consuming. how can added value be extracted from excessively long tmo threads?

for example, due to the high volume of posts in popular threads, quite often people post questions that have already been answered in the very same thread.

Improve the task management support to Calendar

The task support included on the Calendar is pretty basic and I think is not very useful IMHO because I miss the following options:
