Ok, at the moment, when touchscreen vibration feature is enabled, the phone
will vibrate whenever the screen is touched. The vibrations get incredibly annoying, haptics are there to help guide you when your using the phone not to inform you of every single time your touch the screen, it makes kinetic scrolling and swiping through desktops ect.. very annoying..

I find touchscreen vibration is incredibly helpful when typing on the onscreen
keyboard which I use frequently as there are times when sliding the phone out
is inconvenient..

Please implement this!

Improve N900 portrait mode

Posted on 2010-05-04 07:44 UTC by Timo P. Status: Under consideration, Categories: User Experience.

The meaning of this brainstorm is to find out what features in N900 should be usable when device is held in portrait with single hand. Point is to find out what are the most important things to get working in portrait mode and see if there are ways to implement those.

So add your portrait feature requests here!

Email inbox widget

As the title says, I think having a widget for your email inbox (at least unread emails, but this could be a setting) in a Blackberry-like fashion would be very helpful.

Volume up/down keys when held adjusts the volume slowly

Posted on 2010-05-10 18:02 UTC by . Status: Under consideration, Categories: Desktop.

This is a minor brainstorm but it would be nice to see it implemented.
Volume up/down keys when held adjusts the volume slowly. They should adjust it exponentially as the keys are held.
This is a fast shortcut for volume up/down, and I may want to decrease the volume in a fast way when for example, in Angry birds where I do not have access to the status area, so it would take a while to go to zero.

Location specific locking of device

Posted on 2010-05-13 17:28 UTC by Guenter Resch. Status: Under consideration, Categories: Other.

A mobile device can be gone within seconds, leaving all kinds of private information exposed, so I have my N900 lock within a minute or so. This is generally fine, but at work or particularly at home it's just a nuisance. Hence, it would be nice to define conditions that stop the device from locking.
