After the screen goes blank there should be a grace period for the user to shake the device to restore the backlight before it locks.

3G drains battery power rapidly and is best to avoid when possible. One way to do this would be to require apps to register if the app should use GSM or 3G connection (just like you can specify only-wifi). By doing so, if none of the applications need 3G, then the phone does not need to even attempt to maintain a 3G connection, saving battery power.

Provide a common interface for VPN plugins, much like NetworkManager.

Currently, if you primarily use a wifi network with a portal, your bookmark previews very quickly all change to the same image - the login page.  As far as I know, the browser can tell it is being redirected, so it should ideally treat this case more intelligently, so as to not make the feature pointless for portal users.  I was going to file this as an enhancement in Bugzilla, but frankly, I don't have a better idea at the moment; I'm hoping someone else does.

VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Mercedes Benz cars - and possibly others - use VAG Bluetooth with rSap. (a million+ cars?)

In the original Developers Guide Line the use of rSap was set as "a MUST".

Where is it - I need it and so do thousands of potential N900 users in Europe and the rest of the World!
