Currently, the only way to navigate through the Inbox (and additional folders) in Modest is to scroll down the list. The introduction of kinetic scrolling in Maemo 5 makes this easier, but the job can still be tedious if there are lots of emails in the folder.

Notifications Widget

Currently (Missed calles / New SMS / New IM / New eMail) notifications don't appear on your desktop, you have to click on the Active Tasts button to see these notifications.
It would be great to have a widget that you can add to one or more of your desktops that aggregates your notifications in a compact way such that you can notice your notifications easily

Implement portrait mode for Fremantle Messaging
Posted on 2009-09-02 15:26 UTC by Marat Fayzullin. Status: Under consideration, Categories: Internet & Networking.
Implementing portrait mode in Fremantle Messaging (i.e. email, IM, SMS, etc) will give the following advantages:
1. A user will be able to pull the device out of his pocket with one hand, and look at his incoming messages. Writing messages in portrait mode will be impossible without a vertical virtual keyboard, but it is less important as people check on messages way more frequently than write them.
2. Portrait oriented lists can contain much more entries than landscape lists, so a user can see more messages at once when quickly checking his email/IM status.
Better display of Battery Charge Level

The main idea behind this Brainstorm is to improve the display of the battery charge level of the n900
Currently the only information display is a rough iconised / graphical representation of the battery within the status bar and status menu (touch/click the status bar). It would be nice to have some form of percentage displayed somewhere in the UI

Profile and IM Status scheduler using Calendar
Posted on 2009-09-29 16:29 UTC by Sascha Makela. Status: Under consideration, Categories: User Experience, System.
Sometimes it's really annoying and/or embarrassing to have your phone ring loudly in a meeting, theatre or something like that, because you have forgotten to change your Profile to silent. Similarly it's annoying to hear from your friends/colleges complaints of why you didn't reply to your IM when you forgot to change the status to busy. Since often these events are repeating or entered in your Calendar it would beneficial to be able to somehow combine these so that it would do it automatically for you.
EDIT: Made the problem more simple to understand as requested by Qgil. Well, I tried at least... ;)
