Solution #1: add 'who'-field to calendar items

add a "who"-field in the calendar item (appointment/task/whatever) to which any related contact could be linked. a list of suggested contacts, based on the words written in the appointment, could be presented when focusing the 'who'-field. edit: actually it might be enough to click on the 'who'-field and then by typing finding the relevant contact(s).

Solution #2: linked contacts show up at daily calendar view

assuming the contact(s) and appointment(s) are already linked:
- the daily calendar view/widget (at least) could show related contact icons (clickable) in the appointment box. this could be practical for instance when you're looking at your calendar, and realize something about the appointment with jon doe, such as something you need to ask him, or tell him before the appointment. since the contact link is already there, it's easy to start a call, IM, or whatever.

assuming contact-calendar appointment linking, opening a contact profile could have easy access to a list of previous and upcoming appointments with that person.

I really agree that users should be able to assign contacts to Calendar (Todo/Meeting) and also Landmarks. Some addons to this idea are SMS alerts and calendar entry sharing by bluetooth or Ovi calendar!

Solution #5: add contact to calendar alarm notification

atm, when an alarm goes off, you are presented with the title and options to stop or snooze the event alarm. assuming the "who" field gets integrated to the appointment, it would be useful if the contact(s) associated with the event would show in the alarm notification. thus, by clicking on (one of) the contact(s), the contact card would open.
this would be very useful in the case when the alarm goes off and you immediately realize you have to contact the person in question, maybe to tell them to bring something, or tell them you'll be late, or whatever.
