mBarcode 0.0.7-0
mBarcode is a 1D & 2D barcode scanning app for the Maemo platform.
mBarcode is a barcode scanning app for the Maemo platform, which allows a user to scan
1D (e.g. EAN/UPC barcodes) and look them up on different websites. You can also scan QR codes and Datamatrix codes and display the
information contained therein. If the information is an URL, the browser will be opened
for you, and if it's a VCARD it will be inserted into your contacts database.
Other payloads will also be handled in the fullness of time!

Comments:
my notes:
-refocusing after certain delay, took a while before I understood that it focuses only once after pressing the button
-the notification ("top_application") isn't necessary, is it?
after that I can give thumbs up.
I second Venomrush. Though a small package, optification is a good practice to keep system healthy.
App not optified. Using 130kb of rootfs
Camera should just try to autofocus all the time until a scan succeeded or scan was canceled.
Optify it (and if you still need files on / link them in using softlinks)
When the program is started and the camera cover is closed, opening the cover will start the camera application. Could you try to capture this event.
Can't open any image - "Error opening file"
If it's optified and the image open thing is fixed I'll vote for it.
Cheers Bjoern
1) Open Image crashes the app. Either fix this or remove this button. 2) Scanning a 1D barcode is tricky, but it works. You should change it so that if there is no scanned barcode after 5 to 10 seconds the camera auto-focuses again. I had to manually stop and start the scan to get it to auto-focus. or perhaps provide a focus button.
Scanning works quite great for me. And that's the main task you need mbarcode for and what works well for me. So though opening an image crashes on my device I would say great!
It works, it just picky.
This one works very well, especially when it's full size :) http://www.sagedata.com/images/2007/Code_128_Barcode_Graphic.jpg
This one works too and it's recognized as "Brain Freeze EP [VINYL]". mbarcode crashed couple of time after reading this and it usually shows some garbage instead of the numerical code.

I was also once able to read barcode from Pringles can, but camera seems have big focusing or lightning issues reading from real world objects.
Is this supposed to work? I couldn't get it to recognize any barcodes.
Could use XB-Maemo-Display-Name
optifying wouldn't hurt either even though this is very small, but my rootfs is really stretching :)
