Problem : Software on tablets not suitable for serious audiophiles. No EQ, poor navigation and management of playlists is very poor.
Description :
1. Players like the default media player on OS2008 and Canola do not have an equalizer. A good equalizer should provide both custom EQ as well as default builtins like "Rock", "Jazz" and so on which is common with many desktop media players as well as MP3 players.
2. Navigating around hundreds of music files is also a pain on most current media players on the tablets. Better solutions are required. For navigation, inspiration can be drawn from players like the iPod touch which provide an alphabetical scroll bar at the side which makes reaching to a song a snap, or the Sony Walkman Mp3 player with tabs for "A-F',"G-K" and so on at the top or various other interfaces.
When you have hundreds of songs on your tablet and you want to listen to THAT particular song, how do you do so? How many taps or scrolls are required to get to a song when you know the title of the song? How many taps or scrolls are required when you know the album? For a serious audiophile with a large library, FAST navigation is a very important requirements.
3. Other suggestions are on-the-device playlist support. Good media player software should support forming and saving playlists as well as transferring playlists in formats like m3u.
