Maemo 2.0

  • Both ARMEL and x86 include some unnecessary warnings and debugging messages when started.
  • ESD process does not die on x86 after environment stopped.
  • ARMEL environment doesn't work properly for emulation use. It's mostly ment to be used as build environment.
  • When environment is stopped, maemo-launcher doesn't properly die on i386 and ARMEL. For i386 there is a fix in the repository which is not included in the rootstrap.
  • Osso-xterm does not work inside scratchbox in ARMEL target.
  • Gnome-vfs does not work properly inside scratchbox, because bluetooth is missing

Maemo Rootstraps 1.1rc6 (and 1.1rc7)

  • Problem loading applications/plugins/icons that have been installed with the application installer. For a workaround for this problem, please see bugzilla bug #245.

Maemo Rootstraps 1.1rc5

  • Input Methods do not support handwriting recognition and word completion
  • Bluetooth support requires working Bluetooth environment on the Host PC
  • Application Installer GUI is unstable in Scratchbox environment, use app-installer-tool commandline tool instead
  • maemo-af-desktop warnings/errors: SDK doesn't contain status bar plugins, thus these warnings/errors are displayed
  • C locale used instead of en_GB. Please see bugzilla bug #58 for a workaround.

Maemo Developer Rootfs 1.1rc5

  • usbnet connectivity dies often. When this happens just disconnect the USB cable and then connect again
  • Input method doesn't support handwriting recognition and word completion
  • No audio support
  • SECHOLE sshd server is enabled by default. Anyone can login with the default root password
  • SECHOLE sshd host key is pre-generated when creating a rootfs, and thus the key shared with other rootfs
  • The sshd host is pre-generated when creating a rootfs. After flashing a new developer rootfs, the host key has changed. Remove the device from .ssh/known_hosts file after flashing the device.
  • Enable R&D mode with "flasher --enable-rd-mode" to enable root access with "sudo gainroot"
