Howto: Get the Nokia 770 to Support 2GB RS-MMC and MMC-Mobile cards

There are Tablet OS 2006 compatible Kernel zImage(s) available that proide support for 2GB RS-MMC and MMC-Mobile cards.

To apply the new kernel...

1 . First you must be running "'Tablet OS 2006'", either the FINAL or BETA versions: | FINAL > http://maemo.org/maemowiki/HowTo_upgradeto2006final | | ------------------------------------------------------------- | | Beta > http://maemo.org/maemowiki/HowTo_upgradeto2006beta |

2 . Download the appropriate zImage: | Tablet OS 2006-FINAL > http://www.freenux.org/~mm/zImage-su-18-200627 | | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Tablet OS 2006-BETA > http://www.freenux.org/~mm/zImage-su-18-200625 |

3 . Flash it with the new linux flasher with the following command: 'flasher-2.0 -f -k zImage-su-18-200625'

- Download it from > http://www.maemo.org/downloads/d3.php

-The old windows updater won't work for installing this Kernel zImage.

4 . Shutdown the Nokia 770, insert the memory card.

* The flash card needs to be formated already, FAT or FAT32 will work fine, though FAT has a size limit of 2GB.

*Ext2 works also, but will require separate mounting procedures.
