SMSs IMs, mails, web pages already support a long click that pops-up a dialog to e.g. delete or copy the item in question. A translate action could be added here. When clicked, the translate action pops-up a dialog to allow to specify the language to translate from (default to automatically detect) and the language to translate to (defaulting to the device language). The translation result is in the same dialog, allowing the text to be scrolled and edited/copied)
