Need an "offline" GPS tracking application (N900)

Posted on 2010-01-14 20:41 UTC by Patrick Moslley. Status: Waiting, Categories: Location & Navigation.

I am looking with some help to modify or create a program like eCoach that is able to track your path/position on a map.  I want to use it for off road mountain biking, I am very curious to see what my path looks like on a map and to see how far/fast and how long it took.

Volume control should be usable when media player is on and keys/display locked

Posted on 2010-01-16 13:50 UTC by juha somby. Status: Waiting, Categories: Media.

When using n900 as mp3 player it would be awesome if volume keys worked even if display and keys are locked (and device under security code). It would help to adjust volume if i could do it "one hand in pocket" without unlocking device and entering security code. It just takes too much time and attention.

Allow user editable 48 x 48 icons to be used by bookmarks saved to the desktop

Posted on 2010-01-17 22:04 UTC by Steven Yeager. Status: Waiting, Categories: Desktop.

As we find more and more useful websites viewed from our N900's, desktop real estate is at a premium and the desktop can become quickly covered by large webpage thumbnails. Devise a means with which to assign smaller standard desktop icons to these bookmarks so that the larger thumbnail does not have to be used. Allow storage of these icons in a user accessible directory in /home/user/MyDocs

Deaktop homescreen spotlight search

Posted on 2010-01-18 07:41 UTC by Eric Wong. Status: Waiting, Categories: User Experience.

it's nice that keyboard stroke in homescreen can search for contacts. but how about including other sources such as the application list, text messages, emails and so on?

this was achievable on the e71/symbian with Handyshell. very handy indeed regardless of how many app shortcuts I created.
