You could try (temporarily) adding
python-pkg-resources (>= 0.6c9-1maemo2)
To your package Depends:. This should force the package promotion.

Unfortunatly, i can't do anything. The promoter should have promote it too ... but didn't.
All i do is warning on the mailing list of the problem. Thx for the report.
This version depends on python-setuptools which has unresolved dependencies. We need python-pkg-resources to go stable ASAP.
