Comments:
It doesn't really matter if you are the maintainer of poppler2 or not. I'm pretty sure that xournal is the only application currently using it and you can always email the maintainer (who is qwerty12 unless I'm mistaken, didn't check though)
I tried optification on Xournal but it didn't work. Need to try again as I think maemo-optify has been updated since then.
I am not a maintainer for poppler2
Supporting libraries should be optified (at least libpoppler2). Xournal could be optified too even if it's less than 500 kB
Wrote with regular pen, line, highlighter, and changed colors of the pen. Saved to a file and opened a file. Works great. Thanks.
I just installed the version in extras-testing and it seems noticeably slower than the one on extras? Does anyone can reproduce this?
Will you be adding all the functionality that is missing from the fremantle version (as compared to the diablo one)?
And by the way, I see the icon problem all the time. the first time I install a new app, a blue icon appears, instead of the real icon. Somehow, the cache is updated at some later time and the problem corrects itself.
Thanks for your report, but that's an issue with Xephyr, look around on the Internet for a fix (there should be a working Xephyr deb around).
Xournal already supports Portrait mode in this version.
Hello, I've been trying to test the application on the SDK, but I can't write anything using the mouse. As most of the applications, it would be great if could be used on vertical mode.
Thanks for your work!
Quim, that bug is fixed in the next package. I'm trying to have a look at why opening a multi-page PDF causes that much load before releasing it.
Thanks again for reporting.
Aniello
Thanks, I won't spend time in checking if I was missing something.
It's a very old outstanding bug, isn't it? Since... Chinook or even earlier...
The missing icon is a system bug. Updated icon cache isn't taken into use until it's updated again (usually by installing another application)
With Conboy I was not able to reproduce it but I've seen it happen several times... will double check.
These are, btw, the changes in this version:
Fix for a small issue when trying to overwrite existing files (only a notification was appearing, not a dialog asking for Yes/No).
Sports Share via Services (thanks to Qwerty for figuring this out)
Few more keyboard bindings (arrow keys and arrow keys + CTRL modifier)
I think it's a system bug. I think that when it INSTALLS a new app, sometimes (maybe always?) the last installed one has the missing icon in the list. If you install or update an app, that application also gets its icon shown.
I removed Xournal, rebooted, re-installed and there it is, no icon. Update another installed app -> all the icons were there.
I'm trying to remove an application, reboot, re-install and then install a new one and see.
Wow! You're the first to tell me that! I usually see OTHER program do that and I smile thinking "ah ah! I don't do that". The installation script updates the icon cache and it should work always.
Really weird, I'll try to de-install mine, reboot and re-install it again. Let's see.
Ah yes, this is it. Selecting Documents manually works well, without crashes.
By the way, I installed Xournal for the first time a couple of hours ago and I still see a blue square instead of an icon in the task launcher. Is this a problem of the app or the system? Cosmetic problem, not blocker. :)
Sorry, I'll be clearer:
There is a bug triggered in opening that PDF that is causing the load to go high on the device.
The bug you just found is that saving PDF annotated files asks you to save to the root directory / and it crashes because of that.
I think that's a bug into the ppftopdm library Xournal uses. That file is several pages long and there seems to be an issue in simply opening it (CPU load goes high).
However I can't seem to reproduce the bug.
Are you saving to the default location it shows you? ("/") If so, than THAT's the bug. Thanks for finding it. I'll fix it tonight and re-upload it.
For the high CPU load I still haven't figured out why that particular PDF is causing it.
All in all looks good but there is a crash that I can reproduce:
Open the Nokia Copyright Agreement pdf in Documents Draw something Save Wait.... crash. Or try to close.... crash.
Can you reproduce as well?
