wagic 0.14.0maemo0

Wagic is an heroic fantasy collectible trading card game In Wagic, you play as a wizard against the CPU with your army of minions. You start the game with a small collection of cards (symbolizing creatures and spells), and as you win battles against the AI, you earn credits that allow you to buy more cards and build more powerful decks. As you play, you unlock cards and new game modes, so Wagic is much more than a simple card simulation. Wagic feature

Actually I can play the game smoothly in all of its modes and sets (the unlocked ones, about 33), even with cards' original images; the only problem seems to be some random SegFaults, triggered when I return to the main menu after a match or a visit to the shop.

I've filed a bug in the bugtracker about this, however there should also be a report about the FAT thing.

It's probably a good idea. I thought it would be simpler to move the files during the install, but I guess doing it during the startup would prevent most crashes. I'll do that in the next version.

A few notes - don't touch the FAT during install, as it might be missing, full, etc. If you have to move something there, do it when starting the application so that you can always retry/fix if there is an issue. As for data files - crashing is not an option. If the application is a port that does not know how to fail gracefully, make a small launcher script that checks for the necessary files and warns the user if they are missing.

For my understanding, did you install the game while you had the FAT partition unmounted ? This could explain the crash ... I would anyway have to check that during the installation.

Same issue reported by @Emanuele. The app triggers a Segmentation Fault at startup. apt-get install wagic did not produce any errors. Haven't yet been able to start the game. -1

Confirming: key binding problems solved with your hint. Game works now pretty well, nice job :)

Key binding problems can happen when installing a new version using different binding on top of an old version. You can try to remove everything including the resources (located in /home/users/MyDocs/wagic/Res) and reinstall, that should fix the problem. The next version will overwrite old binding all the time, I think this should be simpler.

It seems that every keyboard button pressure is counted twice: this results in game being unplayable. I managed to finish a match by pressing the buttons very very very quickly (that way the pressure is counted once).

Is there a way to lower the buttons' pressures sensibility?

Just tried to remove everything and to install it cleanly with the terminal, now it works well. Guess my N900 is acting like crazy, I shouldn't have used FapMan to install this.

However, the game seems pretty unplayable to me, I'm trying to understand how to control it.

If Wagic crashes when you start it, it's because it does not find its resources (graphics, sounds, text, ...). Those resources are moved to the FAT partitions during the postinst phase so that they can be easily customized by a user by plug in the phone on a PC. I guess my postinst script does not handle correctly all the cases.

It seems that some of the postinst operations are not permitted.

X Terminal says "ln: /opt/wagic/Res/Res: Operation not Permitted", so Wagic can't be installed correctly.

It gives me Segmentation fault everytime I try to launch it. BTW I recently flashed my phone.

Where's the problem?
