A followup - the Community Council has managed to get formal Nokia approval for distribution. This package will, however, need to be removed as the font should go into the non-free section (as it's free as in beer), plus, the Nokia package we got is said to contain a better font file (with more bold/italic/condensed/whatnot options). In any case, thanks to the original submitter for starting this, and sorry about the package reshuffling because of the legalese.

Free would in our context mean something close to the DFSG - rights to modify and (re)distribute. This packages is thus almost certainly in the wrong place - even if we get rights for it, it would not be for redistribution or modification so it would have to go to the non-free section (=free as in beer)

I don't know what Maemo Extras’ definition of “free” is, but presumably permission to modify the font should be a requirement, not just distribution. (Permission to distribute it would be needed to include it even in non-free, of course.)

Sounds like something the Council could get rights for... Let's ask first before thumbing down.

This package is in the ‘free’ section, but its ‘copying’ file states:

Copyright © 2011 Nokia. All rights reserved. Reproduction, transfer, distribution or storage of part or all of the contents in this document in any form without the prior written permission of Nokia is prohibited

That looks pretty non-free to me.
