I find the Pidgin protocols plugin... more confusing. I don't want anything to do with pidgin. and furthermore those plugins were all broken last time I tried them.

@venomrush You are the only one pushing forward for a merged solution.

I spoke with Jonny Lamb and he said he agreed it was confusing, but wasn't sure about the right solution.

In the meantime I don't think it makes sense to deprive users of good software.

Definitely no need to merge. Having many similar applications should not be considered a problem on an open platform. And of the available MSN plugins this one works the best.

Its not like we are on apps store now where the user has little choice. If having more than one browser, over 4 video players, etc and its not a problem. Why then should this be a problem?

Personally I dont mind msn-pecan been a separate plugin from Telepathy-haze plugin. The MSN works way better on pecan and the maintainer response and fixes bugs faster. MSN pecan is a prime example of the advantages of the Unix philosophy of "do one thing and do it well"

Please merge the development to 'Pidgin protocols plugin for Conversations and Contacts' which already has MSN protocol plugin.

Please contact Jonny Lamb & Jon Zhang

Having both confuses end-users.
