Could someone give me the ARM/N900 cross-compile parameters for this please? I want to install the 2.4 version on my N900. Thanks. Richard. (Very old, retired mainframe sysprog, please be gentle with me!)

I'm going to give this a thumbs up because it does work. In particular, it enables get_iplayer. However, I have not and probably will not use it as a stand alone application. Being a CLI piece of software, there really should be some reference or command-glossary in the wiki, especially if the commands are not the same as those for the current desktop version.

You shouldn't even be packaging 1.9 at this late date. Get rtmpdump 2.2. The 1.x C++ code was pretty bloated, the 2.x code is much more efficient, and has a lot more capabilities.

Thanks for that, I'll look at getting those done as soon as I can :)

Cheers Adam

@Adam - yes you can use that mailing list, see here how to correctly setup the bugtracker: http://wiki.maemo.org/Packaging#Bugtracker_location

Since this is a CLI app, you should also use the CLI icon and the app description should clearly say that the app is only executable from the command line: http://wiki.maemo.org/Extras-testing/Command_line_applications

There is a mailing list I found that people have reported bugs on for rtmpdump.

rtmpdump@mplayerhq.hu

from https://lists.mplayerhq.hu/mailman/listinfo/rtmpdump

Do people think this is a good one to use for the bug tracker?

Thumb down for wrong bugtracker link

It doesn't have to have an official bugtracker, the bugtracker link should be a place where the developer wants bugs to be reported.

I'll give you an example: what if I find a bug? Where should I report it? Should I directly write you an email? Then insert a mailto link in the bugtracker. Should I report the bug in a talk.maemo.org thread? Insert the link to the thread.

I don't believe rtmpdump has an official bugtracker, I've never been able to find one.

This is just a re-compile/re-package so I didn't think it appropriate to create a new one on Maemo's bugzilla as this can confuse people.

Also searching on google for rtmpdump bugtracker points me at the main page for rtmpdump.

  • Bugtracker link not valid, it should be a place where enter bugs, not an info page.

Ive tested this with a few python scripts and it seems to be working as it should.

This is just a re-package from the source.
