No need to send a pm this time, you are lucky I've been around :)
In that case you have to use the dependences system, like Stefanos has already said. Many packages depends on others, but the end-user can't use the X-Term like you for installing all the missing packages, so it's up to you to set the Depends field correctly.
Please resend to Extras-Testing this nice package with correct dependences :)
I completely agree. I'll fix it asap. Thanks to all for your feedbacks.
Thumbs-downed for the same reason as Emanuele - If the ncurses package is needed, it needs to be listed as a dependancy so that it's installed with the application.
You can use the "Depends" field in debian/control to indicate what packages are required. This way those packages will be auto-installed when your application is installed.
Also, I suggest you send a private message too when responding to someone's comment. Otherwise he can't know that you responded.
Quite certainly you haven't "ncurses" package installed, It's needed by apps to run.
Please follows the indications reported by the apps Announce at : http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=43345
In your case you should : 1) run X-Terminal 2) type "sudo gainroot" to get root priviledges 3) type "apt-get install libncursesw5"
Try it and let me know if it works.
None of the apps installed works. When I hit the Photorec or TestDisk icon, an X-Term window opens up for a bit and closes immediately.
