RaeMote Apple Remote 1.2
Apple Remote for Mac Mini, MacBook and MacBook Pro
This desktop widget provides a virtual Apple Remote
that can control Mac Minis, MacBooks and iPod docks.
If this package is not working after installation,
please re-start your device in order to complete the
installation of the Python Desktop Widget Support and
the IR transmitter helper applications.
In some cases, QtIrreco could have damaged the file
/etc/lircd.conf - if this is the case, please remove
all lines from this file so that the only line in it
is this: include "/opt/raemote/apple/codes"

Comments:
The widget causes lircd to be active all of the time which results in quick battery drainage. I suggest to send lircd to sleep after a short period of time (~30 seconds) and only wake it up after a button on the widget has been clicked.
I'm happy to fix bugs and maybe implement feature requests. I'm not happy to re-upload my package several times (and have to restart the QA process and re-request users to test the app) just because of the name that appears in the app manager.
I'm putting the widget up for QA so that end users can use if. If you think that the name is not suitable for end users, please feel free to vote it down. Your loss.
and I agree with the name: it isn't a novel so KISS.
why are you offering stuff for QA if you don't want to hear comments? no one can make perfect applications instantly. so listening feedback and making improvements makes your app better. QA isn't for making dev feel bad, it is for making apps better. If you feel bad because of that comment, you should change your attitude. A. you got thumbs up from him and B. improvement idea for the future.....
I'm not asking you to change anything, I'm just asking why the crazy name :)
Please stop discussing the application name and stick to the QA process. The application name is not on the QA checklist. Don't make the testing process harder and more discouraging than it already is.
So why not just "Raemote Apple Remote" ?
