OpenSSH Server 5.1p1-6.maemo4
Secure shell server, an rshd replacement
This is the portable version of OpenSSH, a free implementation of
the Secure Shell protocol as specified by the IETF secsh working
group.
Ssh (Secure Shell) is a program for logging into a remote machine
and for executing commands on a remote machine.
It provides secure encrypted communications between two untrusted
hosts over an insecure network. X11 connections and arbitrary TCP/IP
ports can also be forwarded over the secure channel.
It is intended as a replacement for rlogin, rsh and rcp, and can be
used to provide applications with a secure communication channel.
This package provides the sshd server.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
In some countries it may be illegal to use any encryption at all
without a special permit.

Comments:
Graham, thank you for the feedback and proposals.
You can file bugs here: https://garage.maemo.org/tracker/?atid=1295&group_id=330&func=browse
However your proposals sound like feature requests to me. You can put them here: https://garage.maemo.org/tracker/?atid=1296&group_id=330&func=browse
Where do bug reports go?
The host key files should be backed up when the user backs up settings. This would mean that the host key would not change when the user reflashes and restores settings.
Ideally /etc/sshd_config would also be backed up but that would cause a serious problem: many users (like me) edit sshd_config to disable password logins and also to disable root logins. No problem if I have a key to log in to the user account. But, if I have just flashed the firmware, the user account is locked. So, if sshd_config was restored I would not be able to log in as root to unlock the user account.
Maybe opensync-server should unlock the user account in postinst. After all, if you are running sshd presumably you do want to be able to log in?
Yes, it would be good if the postinst started the app (but make sure it doesn't stop the package installing in scratchbox).
A reliable tool i use on a daily basis without any major glitch. I had to start the server manually after installation, but after a reboot it gets started automatically.
